Super Bowl XLII Pick
I figure everyone’s going with the Giants because it’s more fun that way. Rule of averages, Patriots have to lose one of these eventually, right? Here you go: Giants 31, Patriots 28 Copied and pasted these from this about.com page. … Continue reading

During the 2006 draft previews, a lot of analysts said Brandon Roy was the most NBA-ready. I guess they were right. I figured he’d be good, but not this good this fast. Brandon Roy is an NBA all-star. And anytime … Continue reading

Just like last week’s Tom Brady post, I’ve scoured the New York Times archive for articles about Eli Manning. Here’s a soft article about Eli being raised as a Manning. Here’s an article preceding the 2003 season highlighting Eli’s Heisman … Continue reading

Stardust
I saw this in San Diego at the beginning of August. I’m backtracking and posting reviews of movies I saw in theaters but didn’t get around to writing about. Stardust is similar to Princess Bride, just without Andre the Giant. … Continue reading

Vader Sessions. Someone took Star Wars scenes and replaced Vader’s voice with James Earl Jones audio clips from other movies. Nearly ten minutes but it’s all good stuff.

Rambo
Very entertaining. You might have heard that it’s really violent. It’s really violent. Rambo kills more people than the Cloverfield monster. The dialog isn’t great, but I don’t think anyone was expecting that. It easily maxes out a 10/10 on … Continue reading

Bird poops in news reporter’s mouth. My class readings say that link titles should be as descriptive as possible. That link title says it all. Best thing I’ve seen all week.

Freaks and Geeks
I finally finished Freaks and Geeks. Add me to the group of people sad about it being only one season long. It’s produced by Judd Apatow, the same guy behind 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, and Superbad. And every actor in … Continue reading

Made a pot roast tonight. Used the recipe from one of the Good Eats episodes. Or I guess not so much. I used salt, pepper, onions, and garlic. Didn’t have any of the vinegar, tomato juice, or cumin. I did … Continue reading

Scanner Press
Went on a field trip with my print production class to Scanner, a print press place. To sum it up, there was a bunch of expensive, industrial equipment, and half of the stuff just isn’t used because the industry is mostly digital these days. For the most part, it was impressive (pun intended), but I’m still slightly disappointed because I was expecting something more like this video (featuring Jerry).

Watch the first twenty seconds of this recap of the Federer/Tipsarevic match at the Australian Open. Wait until after the first highlight, when they show a close up of Tipsarevic. What’s he doing? Only the greatest fist pump in history.

Quick thoughts about the MacBook Air
MacBook Air was announced today. This description I don’t like so much: “MacBook Air sets new standards for ultra-portable computing ÇƒÓ without the usual ultra-portable compromises.” Instead of the usual compromises, it’s got an unusual compromise—there’s no CD/DVD drive, but … Continue reading

Christmas Party 1
I tried using my fisheye lens again. I’m starting to like it more and more. I’m improving with the manual focus, but I’m still nowhere close to good. Only like 1 shot in 20 is really sharp, but it sure feels good when it happens. It seems to work well for parties. The pictures were very warm to begin with because I had the wrong white balance about half the time. I don’t know if this is much of an improvement, but I tried.
